Studio Visit: Tia Cibani

Tia Cibani / Pre-Fall 15

Walking into Tia Cibani's Pre-Fall 2015 collection was like walking into a 20th century modern art museum at its finest. The collection speaks for itself. Art influence. I get it. But with just the right amount of conceptual blended into the essential silhouettes I feel for this upcoming year, ie. the sleeveless coats, the cropped blazers, and everything else long length, the way Cibani executed the concept to achieve these desirable pieces is what I admired most.

The collection is rich in full length pleated skirts, lustrous brocades, geometric patterns and cutouts, and a whole lot of gold. She also had some cool cuff design details and a new versatile play on the choker. Inspired by Klimt, the designer said, the colors are bold, ranging from gold and silver metallics to deep wines with black and navy. The best part was the variety of pieces the collection had to offer that speaks to the girliest of girls with all the brocades and shine, to the menswear girls who would go for one of the long length sleeveless coats, any of the wool tweed nep items or the black dress with tucked pleats shown below. This one was simply calling out my name.
So cheers to you Tia and team!!
For a successful eye-catching collection.
